Hi, I’m Evelyn!

I’m so glad you’re here. I am a bilingual Mexican-American LPC-Associate supervised by Myra Hernandez, PhD, LPC-S. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and my hope is to make this process feel welcoming and safe.

My approach to therapy is grounded in connection, curiosity, transparency, and authenticity. I believe that you are the expert of your own story, and together we can work on untangling what feels heavy, while also discovering new ways to find clarity and strength.

I know life can feel overwhelming at times whether you’re navigating trauma, stress, relationships, or just the ups and downs of being human. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support, tools, and encouragement as you move toward the life you want to build.

When I’m not in session, you can usually find me hiking, engaging in yoga/meditation, reading, spending time with friends, and giving my plants their own names and personalities. These simple moments help me stay grounded and remind me of the importance of balance, joy, and connection—things I hope to help you find as well.

Tierra Clara Therapy was born from a desire to create a space that feels grounded, genuine, and deeply connected to my roots. Tierra Clara represents clarity, grounding, and the importance of returning to one’s foundation. It is also a reflection of my gratitude and pride in my Mexican heritage as a way to honor the warmth, resilience, and sense of belonging that have shaped who I am.

As a Mexican American therapist, I’ve learned to navigate the spaces between cultures and identities within the mental health field. I wanted to build a practice where authenticity, culture, and healing can coexist. A space that feels as comforting and welcoming as visiting a loved one’s home, yet one that also invites honest reflection, courage, and growth.

At Tierra Clara Therapy, I strive to create a nonjudgmental yet transparent and compassionate environment where both tears and laughter can coexist. My passion lies in supporting adults as they navigate trauma, relationships, identity, and the path toward self-understanding.

I am proud to offer therapy in both English and Spanish to better serve our diverse community.

Why I Created Tierra Clara Therapy

Therapeutic Modality

My counseling style is trauma-informed, person-centered, and relational, always grounded in compassion and collaboration. I use an integrative style that combines trauma-focused therapies, mindfulness, and relational work to meet each client’s unique needs. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), with additional training as IFS-informed (Internal Family Systems).

I often integrate:

  • Mindfulness & grounding practices – to support regulation and present-moment awareness

  • Psychoeducation – to equip clients with tools and understanding for everyday life

  • Parts work & dissociation-informed strategies – to support integration and self-understanding

  • Strengths-based & supportive techniques – to nurture resilience and personal growth

I am especially passionate about supporting individuals in the following areas:
